La Montagne Equestrian Centre has 20 years' experience behind it. Martine, the manager, has been teaching for 34 years. The centre offers horse-riding for children form the age of 3½ on baby Shetland ponies. Rider levels 1 to 7. The centre welcomes individuals or groups (works committees, school outings on Nature Days, etc.) by appointment for rides lasting one day, one hour, or several hours, depending on the ride. Awarded the Cheval Qualité France 2008 mark by the Fédération Française, Poney Club de France, Club FFE by the Ecole Française d'Equitation, Tourisme Equestre. Open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midday and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday opening: according to schedule (information on request). Closed on Mondays. Equipped to welcome disabled people. The Association Equimontagne organises treks and contirbutes to the welfare of the centre.
From the cannons of Le Barachois, head west along the seafront, then turn left towards La Montagne. At the top of the slope, turn right into Chemin Neuf, then carry straight on into Chemin Commins. At the roundabout, turn right towards Ruisseau Blanc, then continue towards Saint-Bernard. Carry on along the main road until the kiosk on the right (NB: do not go up Ruelle Bambous). Turn into Rue José Michel (the sign with the red horse) and carry on until Chemin Couilloux.
